An egg became a symbol of life because it encloses nascent life to emerge from it. It embodies the idea of rebirth and rejuvenation in the cycle of life, reflected also in its shape, with neither beginning nor end.
Dropping and breaking an egg is an announcement of good news. But when the egg is not damaged, or only crack it is considered a bad luck. If you drop the spoon - expect the guest. If you drop the fork - a guest will be a woman.
Drop an egg into water. If it sinks to the bottom, it’s fresh, perfect for poaching and soft-boiling and making souffles. If it stays submerged with its wide end up, it’s older but still good for most uses, especially hard-boiling (where the egg is cooked all the way through).
If the yolk is flat and breaks easily, the egg is old. If the yolk moves around easily, this means the chalazae (the thicker strands of egg white that hold the yolk in place) have weakened and the egg is aging.
The egg itself became a symbol of the Resurrection. Just as Jesus rose from the tomb, the egg symbolized new life emerging from the eggshell. In the Orthodox tradition, eggs are painted red to symbolize the blood that Jesus shed on the cross. The egg-coloring tradition has continued even in modern secular nations.
Egging refers to the act of throwing eggs at houses, cars, or people. Egging is a criminal offence in most areas. The eggs are usually raw, but are sometimes hard-boiled or rotten. Eggs are capable of causing damage when thrown at property and egging is often considered vandalism for this reason.
Eggs are fragile and while there may not be any visible cracks on the eggshell, an egg dropped on the ground is most likely no longer a viable egg. The membrane inside may be damaged causing harm to the embryo.
They’re simply the remnants of a ruptured blood vessel that occured during the egg’s formation. Most often, the ruptured vessel forms a tiny speck or dot of blood with a dark red, brown, or even black hue. Sometimes, larger vessels burst, and this allows blood to pool throughout the entire egg.
What should you do? If eggs crack, break them into a clean container, cover it tightly, keep refrigerated and use within two days. Be sure to cook eggs thoroughly, with both the white and yolk firm, to a temperature high enough to destroy bacteria that might be present in the egg yolk or white.
In the worst-case scenario, the egg will break on the thirteenth floor, and it will take all of our fourteen tries to find that out.
The best way to determine if your egg is spoiled is by cracking it open into a bowl. If the egg white is pink or iridescent this is an indication of spoilage due to Pseudomonas bacteria. Some of these bacteria can make us sick when eaten and they will produce a greenish, fluorescent, water-soluble color.
The eggs of a robin are symbolic of wealth.
Look for any pink, blue, green or black discoloration in the yolk or whites, as this may indicate bacterial growth (3, 4). If you notice any signs of discoloration, throw the egg out and wash the bowl with hot, soapy water before testing a new egg. You can also check to see if the whites or yolk of the egg are runny.
If the egg is cracked while cooking or some portion of the egg white or yolk comes into contact with the shell, you should be fine, as salmonella spread is very low during cooking. According to Eat or Toss, the kind of break in your eggshells is also important.
6 “If you come across a bird’s nest in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young.

Based on their research, they hypothesized that the menu for the Last Supper would have featured bean stew, lamb, bitter herbs, fish sauce, unleavened bread, dates, and aromatized wine.
Keep doors and windows locked. Put garden tools, ornaments and potted plants inside your home or out of sight so they can’t be used to damage your property. Move bikes inside, or lock them somewhere secure. Put your car in the garage.
Egging can be illegal and categorized as vandalism. For minor cases that do not cause damage, police will usually just make the kids clean up their mess and contact their parents and the homeowners suffering the prank.
If there are dead nestlings or unhatched eggs in an “active” nest (one that also contains living eggs or young) then it’s best to leave them in the nest until the other young fledge to reduce disturbance.
To tell if a bird egg is alive, check the egg to see if it is warm, unbroken, and has visible veins when under bright light. You can also watch for signs of movement if you’re incubating an egg. If an egg is in a nest, watch for a parent returning to the nest; this means it’s alive.
An egg in good condition can hatch without its parent. The best thing to do if you find one is to call your local wildlife rescue center and see if they are able to take it in. If the future chick belongs to a rare or endangered species, they might send someone out to collect it and raise it.
Black or green spots inside the egg may be the result of bacterial or fungal contamination of the egg. If you come across an egg with black or green spots discard the egg. Off color egg whites, such as green or iridescent colors may be from spoilage due to bacteria.
Clear egg whites are from older, but safe eggs; pinkish egg whites mean the egg is spoiled and a cloudy egg white means it is VERY fresh. Blood spots in egg yolks are safe, but best bet is to remove them before cooking for eye appeal.Dec 27, 2006 The 5 things you need to know…
