All you have to do is believe. And if it works it works, if not then change your mind. “If god gives you lemons, get a new God.” Everybody has preconceptions, but who has the experience?

Say someone experiences what they think is God, and you are able to “explain it away” in terms of chemicals reactions and neural pathways or whatever gets you off. Now if their “God” is always there for them they will not stop believing in Him, no matter how much sense it makes. You will never find God if you are looking for someone else to show you, and there will always be a natural explanation….
Who would you respect more: A God who has set up a beautifully complex system and follows every rule of that system, or a god who has to break his rules every once in a while just to make his point?

I think atheism is simply your mask for your own autotheism. Everybody has one.

i believe in God, but i do agree with you that there is no real evidence God exists.. i never really heard of the no sensory organs part.. oh well anyway i’m not gonna ask you to believe in God, but rather raise some point.. the fact that science has all the proof that God doesn’t exist, yet billions still believe has gotta mean something.. and the fact that people have to go so far as to try to disprove a god exists shows that there is something they are trying to disprove, hence there is that something, a god.. sorry, bit of philosophy there hehe

The Reason Project is collaborating with talented artists and graphic designers to produce a large-format art book that communicates the virtues of reason/science and the liabilities of faith/religion. The artwork may be accompanied by quotations from the trustees and advisors of the Reason Project (e.g. Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Bill Maher, Ian McEwan, Steven Pinker, Salman Rushdie, Steven Weinberg and others), by excerpts from their published work, or by original essays. The goal is to produce a beautiful and controversial book that will stand the test of time and help spread the message of the foundation (see above link).

Great idea with the TP rolls. On one hand, we can have 99% of the evidence to prove a scientific theory, but that 1% completely nullifies it for God-believers. On the other hand, there is no evidence for God, yet they can’t figure out why we won’t believe.
